Howard Dix of Jackson, Michigan was the Owner\ Driver of
the above pictured B\Gas 1933 Plymouth Coupe,  Power by a
426 cu.in. Injected Hemi,  running to a Sonny Benson built
727 Clutchflite. Howard raced this coupe at many tracks
back in it's day, but I know first handed it was a big crowd
Pleaser at Onondaga Dragway.
Howard ran low 10s in this little Plymouth, and back in the
late 60s early 70s those times were very respectful
George Streeter's 1964 Plymouth SS\EA.
This Plymouth was one of the local Super Stockers that ran
out at Onondaga Dragway back in the  70s We were told Mr
Streeter still has this Car Today
Photo just below is of Dean
Darnell's Plymouth.  Dean has
owned this Car since the early
1970's.  Dean ran at Onondaga
Dragway, as well as other tracks.
Dean is now 75 years old and is still
racing today, with his last outing at
Milan Dragway in Sept. 2009 for the
Mopar Meet where he ran some
pretty good numbers; 11.80 at 112
MPH and placed 7th in his class.
Drag Action saw Dean's Mopar at
the first Car Show that was held at
Onondaga Dragway in October
2009.  We will be putting up some
more photos throughout the months
of October and November 2009.
Check back!

Note from the Big Dog

Now the man standing to the right is
George

the owner and driver of maybe the most
famous Car to ever run at Onondaga Dragway week
after week. B\Gas Plymouth Cuda called
P F Flyer.
We received an email from Kevin Green, the second son of Ray and Kay Green.
Kevin found our website and sent us a photo and gave us a little history on his
family's Drag Racing years at Onondaga Dragway.

Kevin tells us that his father raced a 1940 Ford Coupe, called Mr. Shifty, sporting a
409.  His mother drove a 1958 Corvette, red with lace inlays, in the Powder Puff
races.  The Corvette was named Shifty 2.  In 1969, the family bought a 1949 Anglia
with a 426 Hemi and Hillborn Injectors.  Kevin says that this Anglia was a fire
breathing, squirrley little Hot Rod.  8 years later, Kevin says that they purchased a
1950 Anglia and put a 327 in it and drove it around Lansing on a historical plate.
Kevin's father, Ray, and his mother, Kay, raced at Onondaga Dragway until 1976 or
1977.  Kevin tells us that those are fond memories for him and his family still
today.

Ray Green's 1950 A\Gas Angila was one of the heavy competitors that blessed
Onondaga Dragway back in the 1970s. Ray's now living in Georgia and still has
Shifty 3 and takes it to the dragstrip from time to time.

George Farmuth's Plymouth Baracuda was one of Drag Racing's
most  outstanding B\Gas Cars back in the 70s. George and his
Baracuda  frequented Onondaga Dragway in Michigan and was
most definitely an Onondaga Dragway favorite.  His P-F Flyer was
not only a household word within the Michigan Drag Racing
community, but also throughout the United States.
