We received an email from Kevin Green, the second son of Ray and Kay
Green.  Kevin found our website and sent us a photo and gave us a little
history on his family's Drag Racing years at Onondaga Dragway.

Kevin tells us that his father raced a 1940 Ford Coupe, called Mr. Shifty,
sporting a 409.  His mother drove a 1958 Corvette, red with lace inlays, in
the Powder Puff races.  The Corvette was named Shifty 2.  In 1969, the
family bought a 1949 Anglia with a 426 Hemi and Hillborn Injectors.
Kevin says that this Anglia was a fire breathing, squirrley little Hot Rod.  8
years later, Kevin says that they purchased a 1950 Anglia and put a 327
in it and drove it around Lansing on a historical plate.  Kevin's father, Ray,
and his mother, Kay, raced at Onondaga Dragway until 1976 or 1977.
Kevin tells us that those are fond memories for him and his family still
today.

Ray Green's 1950 A\Gas Angila was one of the heavy competitors that
blessed Onondaga Dragway back in the 1970s. Ray's now living in
Georgia and still has Shifty 3 and takes it to the dragstrip from time to
time.
George Farmuth's Plymouth Baracuda was one of Drag Racing's most  outstanding
B\Gas Cars back in the 70s. George and his Baracuda  frequented Onondaga Dragway
in Michigan and was most definitely an Onondaga Dragway favorite.  His P-F Flyer was
not only a household word within the Michigan Drag Racing community, but also
throughout the United States.
